BoC ranked among top banks in the world
The Bank of Ceylon (BoC) has been recognised as one of the top 1,000
banks in the world by the banking and finance magazine, 'The Banker
Magazine' of July 2013.
The top 1,000 banks were selected in recognition of their
achievements.
"The rankings are one of the industry's most widely used index of
global banking, and are internationally recognised as the definitive
guide to the strength, size, soundness, profitability, performance of
banks," a bank spokesman said.
"The Bank of Ceylon serves over 10 million account holders islandwide
and our commitment to each of them remains steadfast. Fitch Rating Lanka
Ltd has affirmed Bank of Ceylon's national long-term rating to AA+ (lka)
stable outlook which is the highest rating awarded to a local commercial
bank," he said.
"Brand Finance Lanka ranked BoC as the number one brand in Sri Lanka
for the fifth consecutive year in 2013. Our multi-faceted offering is
one of our greatest strengths. From the children's savings account to
corporate credit, for state sector and private companies, we serve at
every level," the spokesman said.
"The bank has the strength and the diversity of resources to offer
its customers a range of financial solutions; such as corporate banking,
retail banking, islamic banking, investment banking, off-shore banking,
development banking, international and treasury operations and trade
financing services, through its widespread branch network," he said.
Bank of Ceylon Chairman Razik Zarook said, "This milestone has been
