ABA Layton Cup Boxing Meet 2013:
Madusanka in easy win over Navaratne

for the today’s finals in men’s middleweight category of the
on-going ABA Layton Cup Boxing Championship held at the
Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo yesterday.

M.M. Prabhashwara of Slimline qualified for the finals defeating Sri
Lanka Navy’s SP Gamage in the semi-final bout of the on-going ABA Layton
Cup Boxing Meet at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Colombo yesterday.
Prabhashwara, who toured the recently concluded ASBC Asian
Confederation Boxing Championship in Amman, Jordan overcame Gamage by
2-1.
Sri Lanka’s leading Bantamweight boxer, NGS Jayaweera of Slimline,
advanced for the today’s finals by beating NSP Silva of Slimline on
points 2-1 in the bantamweight semi-final.
In middleweight category semi-final bout, RT Madusanka of Casualine
easily overcame RS Navaratne of Slimline. The Southfore Madusanka, a
medical student of the Peradeniya Medical Faculty, secured his place in
the today’s finals by beating Nawaratne by 3-0.
The finals of ten weight categories of the Layton Cup Boxing
Championship will be held today commencing at 2 p.m. at Sugathadasa
Boxing Ring.
