25th National Youth Sports Festival at Public Grounds Polonnaruwa July 25 to 28

The 25th Sri Lanka Youth National Sports Festival 2013 will be held from July 25 to 28 at the Public Grounds, Polonnaruwa.

There are many rich awards to be won at the Sports Festival. The Sportsman or Sportswoman who establishes a National Sports Record will be awarded a new motor car and for the best sportsman and sportswoman under 20 and over 20 years will be awarded a new motor cycle. This was confirmed by Chairman, Director General Lalith Perera of the National Youth Services Council.

The Sports Festival is organised by the Youth Services Council, Youth Affairs and Skills Development Ministry, Sri Lanka Youth Clubs Federation and Sri Lanka Youth Centre.

Usually this festival is organised at Divisional Secretariat, District, Provincial and National levels.

More than 350,000 sportsmen and sportswomen are expected to participate at divisional level and nearly 2,500 sportsmen and sportswomen will participate at the final festival.

The following sports will be held at the festival: Netball Finals (men and women), Football (Men), Kabbadi (Men and Women) and Tug-O-War (Men and Women).
