Ten months in Cherry Blossom Land
When I set foot in Japan in 1972, it was dark. I
was met by a smiling Japanese gentleman at the Haneda airport,
holding a placard bearing my name. I was in the midst of a
glittering fairyland as he drove me to the Tokyo International
Centre, (TIC) which was to be my abode in Japan for 10 months. But I
felt somewhat homesick.
