Sahan and Raveen put Sri Lanka under 17 on top
Two fine performances by Sahan Arachchige (105) and Raveen Sayer (7
for 64) put the Sri Lanka Under 17 team in a strong position against
their English counterparts on the second day of their three day game at
Leicestershire .
In reply to the England Under 17 first Innings score of 190 , the Sri
Lankans were 115 for 2 overnight with Sahan Arachchige unbeaten on 60.
Arachchige , the former Bandaranaike MV, Gampaha schoolboy who joined
Ananda College Colombo recently batted with authority to compile a well
struck 105 which helped the Lankans to reach 399 for 9 in reply to the
hosts 190. Arachchige was well supported by Skipper Chamika Karunaratne
who completed a fighting 66.
