Kandurata Maroons take Twenty20 title

Kandurata Maroons clinched the Sri Lanka Cricket Ultra-Tech Super 4's
Twenty20 title when they defeated the Basnahira Greens by seven wickets
in the final played in a day game at the R. Premadasa Stadium yesterday.
The Basnahira team won the toss and elected to bat and managed only
109 for 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Skipper Angelo Mathews top scored
with 53 not out facing 48 deliveries with three fours and a six and T.N.
Sampath the second best chipped in with 14. Nuwan Kulasekera took 3 for
19.
Chasing a moderate target (110) to win in 20 over the Kandurata
Maroons reached the required target in 17 overs. Upul Tharanga (32),
Thilina Kandamby (17) Kumar Sangakkara (21) and Kaushal Lokuarachchi
(26) were among the runs for the victorious Kandurata Maroons team.
Basnahira Greens: 109 for 7 in 20 overs (T.N. Sampath 14,
Angelo Mathews 53 n.o, Nuwan Kulasekera 3 for 19.)
