Mobitel, SLT host business forum for SMEs

Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel with its parent company, Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) recently conducted a Business Solutions Forum for Small and Medium Enterprises in Ratnapura, themed 'Accelerating your Business'.

Over 150 people representing banking, plantations, tourism, gemmology, services; the Chamber of Commerce, opinion leaders and managers of Mobitel and SLT were present. The program was also simultaneously webcast live through Mobitel's mEvent platform, enabling it to be viewed through websites or smartphones.

The program included a product presentation by Head of Business Solutions, Mobitel, Chamith Hettiarachchi. This was followed by a live demonstration of the products introduced.

DGM - SME Sales Support, SLT, Sanjeewa Jayamaha made a presentation on fixed-line solutions for SMEs. Deputy Director General, Operations, Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority, Ranjith Pathmasiri, who was the SME expert at this forum spoke on optimising electricity consumption to enhance profits.

"With a vision 'to lead Sri Lanka towards an info-com and knowledge-rich society through its service offerings', Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel stands in the forefront by introducing innovative and dynamic business solutions for Small and Medium scale businesses to create higher levels of efficiency and improve livelihoods, thereby facilitating growth," a company spokesman said.

"With the strong belief that it is these valued businesses that play a vital role in economic development. Mobitel continues to stay committed towards nurturing and promoting the SME sector which continuously contributes to the nation's development," he said.

"Equipped with the latest technology, Mobitel's goal is to enable the population to access mobile enterprise solutions that would help them increase their efficiency, productivity and re-engineer processes," the spokesman said.
