Central Bank takes precautions

The Central Bank (CB) has taken precautions mindful of the adverse impact of the sharp devaluation of the Indian rupee. According to the CB, the Sri Lankan rupee appreciated by 20 percent against the Indian rupee from January to August 30. Appreciation during this month alone was 10.75 percent.
