SLFP turns 62 tomorrow

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party(SLFP), the main constituent party of the ruling UPFA, will celebrate its 62nd anniversary tomorrow at the Maligapitiya grounds, Kurunegala under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

SLFP seniors, along with other constituent party leaders of the UPFA, would also attend the SLFP anniversary celebrations. It will coincide with the commencement of the UPFA Provincial Council election rallies to be addressed by the President.

This will be the first of the 10 main UPFA rallies that will be held in the districts where Provincial Council elections will be held next month. The final rally of the series will be held in Kandy on September 18.
