Netherlands inks deal with BOI

The Board of Investment (BOI) signed an agreement with Netherlands investors who are to invest in six sectors including agriculture, power, banking and ship building, BOI Chairman, Dr. Lakshman Jayaweera said.The sixteen-member business delegation consisting of a film crew and leading business personnel in the Netherlands was led by Sri Lankan Ambassador in the Netherlands, Buddhi K. Athauda.

Resumption of train service – an economic boost for North

The 63-kilometre newly completed railway track between Omanthai and Kilinochchi will be opened for train travel shortly. A trial run on the track was conducted last Friday. Transport Minister, Kumara Welgama and officials travelled on the train to Kilinochchi. The Ceylon Government Railways (CGR) and Ircon International Limited of India constructed the track and the Kilinochchi railway station.
