The voice of youth to be heard at Commonwealth
Over 200 young leaders will get together under
the theme ‘Inclusive Development: Stronger Together’ for the
Commonwealth Youth Forum (CYF) to be held for five days from
November 10 to 14 in Hambantota. Twenty three countries have already
submitted their nominations for the event,

in Geneva Ravinatha Aryasinha strongly repudiated the UN Human
Rights Chief Navinethem Pillay's assertion that if certain concerns
are not comprehensively addressed, she believes ‘the international
community will have a duty to establish its own inquiry mechanisms'.

US govt shutdown halts EU free trade talks
Negotiations on a sweeping free trade pact
between the United States and the European Union have been postponed
because of a partial government shutdown in America. US officials
had been due in Brussels next week to discuss the deal aimed at
boosting bilateral ties.
