Narangoda at the helm of GS Finance
Senior banker Eastman Narangoda assumed office as Chairman, George
Steuart Finance PLC (GS Finance).
Narangoda said he is optimistic of transforming the company into a
strong and vibrant financial solutions provider soon, setting an example
to the industry which is faced with great challenges in the modern
world.
Set up in 2004 as a leasing company named Asia Commerce (Pvt) Ltd,
the company became a leasing and finance company in 2005. In 2011,
changing its name to take on the strong brand association of George
Steuart and Company, the company transformed into George Steuart Finance
PLC, a full-fledged finance company.
"Today, the company is on the threshold of an aggressive growth
phase. GS Finance offers a basket of financial products and services
that are tailor-made to create new growth opportunities for the people
of Sri Lanka," a company spokesman said.
GS Finance has seven branches in Colombo, Kandy, Kurunegala,
Wennappuwa, Negombo, Gampaha and Kalutara. A rapid branch expansion
program is underway. Chairman, George Steuart Group, Dilith Jayaweera,
reiterated the Group's commitment to build the nation through the
empowerment of local communities and entrepreneurs, by extending
financial support.
The credo of the Group 'Believe', underlines the growth trajectory of
the corporate entity and the vision to create wealth for the nation.
Narangoda and Jayaweera said that they would develop the company
