Children from Sri Lanka and Germany hold art exhibition
 Children from schools as far flung as Pundoluoya, Jaffna, Mt. Lavinia
and Southern Germany, between the ages of 11-15 participated in an art
exhibition which marked the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations
between Sri Lanka and Germany which falls this year.
Organised by Helga Schafheutle, the president of the Sri Lanka-German
Friendship Society, the drawings were with crayons, chalk and water
colours.
The three-day art exhibition was held at the Goethe Cultural
Institute and prizes were given away at the conclusion to the following
prize-winners of each school.
St. John's College, Jaffna: First prize - Krespouli (14 years) Second
prize - Malaravan (13 years) Third prize - Thuvara Kethan (13 years);
Uduvil Girls' College, Jaffna: First prize - Arudsothy Anushiya (14
years) Second prize - Abishayini Vishnuraj (14 years) Third prize -
Arthana (12 years); Pundoluoya Tamil Maha Vidyalaya: First prize - S.
Albinu (14 years) Second prize - R. Sathiya Vathani (15 years) Third
prize - S.H.F. Hasna (13 years); Science College, Mt. Lavinia: First
prize - Tashen Sri Shehevan (12 years) Second prize - Dinuka (12 years)
Third prize - Athula (14 years); Fichte Gymnasium Karlsruhe: First prize
- Jacob Dunkelberg (11 years) Second prize - Van Anh Riegel (11 years)
Third prize - Paula Jagar (11 years). |
