Agenda 14 short film festival
Agenda 14 in partnership with European Film Academy and Goethe
Institute in Colombo will present a short film festival for the third
consecutive time. Other partners are The British Council, Swiss Embassy,
Sarasavi Publishers and Asian Film Location Services.
Every year the festival offers:

Anomaa Rajakaruna |
Best short film, jury prize, Tissa Abeysekara critic award, Human
rights prize, Most gender sensitive film and most promising filmmaker
which is awarded to a filmmaker under 24 years of age as well as the
best animated short film.

December 7 and 8 at 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Goethe Institut

December 8 at 7 p.m. at the NFC Cinema
The Agenda 14 short film festival has received nearly 100 short films
produced during the past 12 months and 60 selected films will be
screened during the weekend. The chief guest at the festival will be
German documentary filmmaker Alexander Riedel. He will conduct a
documentary workshop for 15 selected documentary filmmakers on December
10 and 11. There will be a public lecture delivered by Alexander Riedel
on documentary at Goethe Institut on December 9 at 4.30 p.m. and one of
his films will be screened afterwards.
Pitching session
In partnership with CEPA there will be a pitching session introduced
by the festival director Anomaa Rajakaruna for the first time in Sri
Lanka. The aim is to produce seven short films. Filmmakers under 35
years are eligible to apply. Winners will be given a grant to produce
short films. The pitching session will be held at The Goethe Institut at
9.30 a.m. Prior registration is required for this session and
applications will be available at the festival venue. |
