Noble gift by retired teachers

The Kurunegala District retired Government school Principals' and Teachers' Association will celebrate Christmas by presenting uniform material and stationery to 1,500 needy Catholic and Buddhist primary students in remote government schools in Kurunegala and Puttalam Districts of the NWP on Dec. 25. Rs. 4.5 million will be allocated by the Association for this worthy cause, the Treasurer of that Association J.A. Jayasinghe said recently.

The business community and members of youth clubs in the Kurunegala District have consented in assisting the organisers to make this event a success.

"To get the blessings of Lord Jesus Christ, we must help the needy as far as possible Mr. Jayasinghe said.
