Dearth of Grama Niladharis

AGAs and the people in the Kalutara district are facing difficulties due to a large number of Gramaniladari vacancies not being filled as yet.

Although the district consists of 762 GN divisions, there are only 512 Gramaniladaris having while the total number of vacancies amounts to 252.

A considerable number of Niladaris is also due to retire by the end of December. Interviews to recruit Gramaniladaris had been held several years ago but so far no new appointments have been given.
