Free medical clinic in Ragama today
A free medical clinic and a legal counselling service organised by
the United Traders' Association, Ragama will be held today from 8.00
a.m. to 2.00 p.m. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Church premises, Ragama.
Mattakkuliya parishioners celebrate church feast
The 152nd feast of St. Mary's church, Mattakkuliya will be celebrated
on a grand scale today.
The parish priest, Rev. Fr. Anton Jayanandan said the theme of this
year's feast is "Let Mother Mary be our model: Let us know the World of
God and live it and be blessed like Mary".
Rev. Fr. Sarath Iddamalgoda will officiate at the festive High Mass
in English and Sinhala at 7.30 a.m. The procession carrying the statue
of Our Blessed Mother commencing at 5 p.m. will wend its way through St.
Mary's Lane, Jubilee Mawatha, Ferguson Road, Church Road, Farm Road,
Vystwyke Road, St. Mary's Road and return to the church, Fr. Jayanandan
said.
Holy Qur'an exhibition concludes today
The Holy Qur'an exhibition by the Sri Lanka Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at
at the Siyane National Book Fair 2013 which is being held at the Public
Library, Gampaha concludes today.
Poojas at Nawala Sri Diyawanna Vihara
An Asheervada pooja organised by the Dayaka Sabha of the Nawala Sri
Diyawanna Purana Vihara to invoke blessings on the country and people
for the New Year will be held at the Vihara premises on January 1.
The program includes a 'Kiripindu pooja' at 6.30 a.m. and a 'Nelum
Mal pooja' at 5 p.m. conducted by Ven. Matuwagala Dhammasiri, Thera and
the Viharadhipati, Ven. Wahigala Somaratane Thera.
Crib competition from December 14-15
The newly established Faith Animation Mission of the Archdiocese of
Colombo in collaboration with the YCS and the Jesus Youth, has planned a
crib competition on December 14 and 15 from 9.00 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Sts.
Peter and Paul Church premises, Ragama to propagate correct catechism
about Christmas.
The theme is: If Jesus is born among us today...... Many participants
from parishes and schools will take part in the competition under two
age groups. Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, the Auxiliary Bishops,
the Bishops Emeriti and many other dignitaries will be present.
It will conclude with singing carols by four choirs and the
distribution of prizes.
