Udahamulla Embuldeniya Traders
Association recently rescued four cows from a slaughter
paying Rs. 165,000 to the slaughter housekeeper. The cows
were handed over to the new owner, a livestock farmer at

A new library building at Beruwala UC was
opened by Dr. Sujatha Rajitha Senaratne recently. Chairman

“The Dehiwala – Mt.Lavinia YMBA recently
donated drugs valued at Rs. 145,000 to the Cancer Hospital
Maharagama, and dry food items to the value of Rs.120,000 to
inmates of the Hospital. Dr. Wasantha Dissanayake (Deputy
Director Cancer Hospital), Ranil Fernando (President YMBA),
Priyanga de Alwis (Treasurer YMBA), Dasith Fernando (Member

A delegation from CIS countries visited
Sri Lanka in November on a familiarization tour, organised
by the Sri Lanka Embassy in Moscow, with an aim of
acquainting the participants from the Russian Federation,
Republic of Belarus and Ukraine with Sri Lankan
history, heritage, culture, traditions, cuisine and tourism.

“Isisara 2013,” a live concert of the
Isipathana College Aesthetic Band organised by the Junior
Old Boys' Union was held recently at the Sugathadasa Indoor
Stadium. Veteran artiste Channa Wijewardena was the chief
guest. Music was directed by Mrs. Tharanganie Pathiraja.
