Navy rescues four TN fishermen

Sri Lanka Navy personnel have rescued four fishermen from Tamil Nadu who were in distress after their boat capsized in rough seas due to an engine failure. Naval personnel attached to SLNS Wasaba of the Northern Naval Command rescued the four fishermen from Jagadapattinam, India in the seas west of Delft Island.

The fishermen were brought ashore and provided with food and medical treatment, the Navy said. The fishermen have been handed over to the Delft Police for further investigations.

The Mallagam Magistrate's Court has ordered the fishermen to be remanded until December 19 after they were produced in Court.
