Navy rescues four TN fishermen
Sri Lanka Navy personnel have rescued four fishermen from Tamil Nadu
who were in distress after their boat capsized in rough seas due to an
engine failure. Naval personnel attached to SLNS Wasaba of the Northern
Naval Command rescued the four fishermen from Jagadapattinam, India in
the seas west of Delft Island.
The fishermen were brought ashore and provided with food and medical
treatment, the Navy said. The fishermen have been handed over to the
Delft Police for further investigations.
The Mallagam Magistrate's Court has ordered the fishermen to be
remanded until December 19 after they were produced in Court. |
