Quality education for NWP students

Arrangement have been made by North Western Province (NWP) Chief
Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara to transfer all zonal directors of
education and divisional directors of education who presently work in
the Kurunegala and Puttalam districts of the NWP, early in 2014, to make
the education sector in the province more productive and effective.
PR Officer of the NWP Chief Minister Chandana Pushpakumara told a
media conference in Katupotha that every step would be taken by the
Chief Minister to ensure a quality education for all students.
Job-oriented education for senior school students in the NWP would
also be created.
Jayasekara has planned to generate 50,000 local job opportunities for
unemployed youth in the NWP next year and 20,000 skilled youth would be
provided with lucrative foreign job opportunities during the next two
years, Pushpakumara said.
He said vocational training opportunities for school-leavers would be
expanded next year for which Rs. 4.5 million would be invested under the
guidance of Chief Minister Jayasekara. |
