Gem and money looted

A person carrying Rs. 37 lakhs and a precious stone valued at nearly Rs 25 lakhs, on a motor cycle from Ratnapura towards Beruwala, was stopped and looted, by a gang of robbers at Panapitiya on Christmas day early in the morning.

The victim was left alone at the Kalutara North Calido Sea Beach, police said. The victim had rushed to the Kalutara police and made a complaint.
