SSC take Premier Limited Over Trophy

SSC defeated their traditional rivals NCC by 54 runs to take the Premier limited Overs Trophy at the R.Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Khettarama yesterday./

NCC who won the toss and elected to field restricted SSC to 278 for 9 in their 50 overs. Chamara Kapugedera struck a 57 ball 70 runs with the inclusion of seven fours and three sixes aided by another 49 by opener Vishwa Wijeratne , Thilina Kandamby 34 and Dammika Prasad 26 n.o helping SSC to reach 278 for 9 in their 50 overs. Farveez Maharoof and Sohan Boralessa took three wickets apiece .

NCC in their turn were all out for 224 in 45.1 0vers. Jehan Mubarak top scored with 55 for the losers while Charith Jayampathy 4 for 49, Kaushal Lokuarachchi 2 for 49 and Dammika Prasad ( 2 for 29) bowled best for SSC
