Woman and two young boys found dead in Brent
A murder investigation has been launched after a woman and two young
boys were found dead in a house in Brent, north-west London.
The bodies were found on Thursday after police were called in to a
property in Woodgrange at about 17:20 GMT.
Two boys, a five-year-old, a seven-month-old and a woman, 33, were
pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are treating the children’s deaths as murder. The woman’s
death has not so far been considered suspicious. A post-mortem
examination on the woman gave the cause of death as compression of the
neck.
Tests to determine how the children died will take place tomorrow.
Scotland Yard said detectives were not suspecting anyone else in
connection with the incident.
The next of kin have been informed.Councillor Reg Colwill, who
represents Kenton ward, said:
“I think everybody is the same, they are shocked at what’s happened.
”Leslie Gotts, who has lived in Woodgrange Close for 18 years, said
the family, who are believed to be from Sri Lanka, had lived in the
first-floor flat for about a year. Gotts, 70, said: “I just couldn’t
believe what I was hearing. You freeze.
“It’s a quiet road, a very mixed community. I think I only saw her
once.
