Woman and two young boys found dead in Brent

A murder investigation has been launched after a woman and two young boys were found dead in a house in Brent, north-west London.

The bodies were found on Thursday after police were called in to a property in Woodgrange at about 17:20 GMT.

Two boys, a five-year-old, a seven-month-old and a woman, 33, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are treating the children’s deaths as murder. The woman’s death has not so far been considered suspicious. A post-mortem examination on the woman gave the cause of death as compression of the neck.

Tests to determine how the children died will take place tomorrow. Scotland Yard said detectives were not suspecting anyone else in connection with the incident.

The next of kin have been informed.Councillor Reg Colwill, who represents Kenton ward, said:

“I think everybody is the same, they are shocked at what’s happened.

”Leslie Gotts, who has lived in Woodgrange Close for 18 years, said the family, who are believed to be from Sri Lanka, had lived in the first-floor flat for about a year. Gotts, 70, said: “I just couldn’t believe what I was hearing. You freeze.

“It’s a quiet road, a very mixed community. I think I only saw her once.
