Drug shortage in Hambantota

Many patients from Kataragama, Tissamaharama, Weerawila, Tanamalwila
and Kirinda say that most of the drugs are not available at Hambantota
state pharmaceutical outlet and they go to consult specialist doctors at
Hambantota base hospital. In addition to that many patients visit
private channelling centres situated here to get better treatment.
After getting their prescriptions from their respective doctors they
rush into SPC outlets and buy medicine and they frequently find that
some important medicines are not available there too.
