Sri Lanka above poverty line with other SAARC countries

Economic Development Ministry Senior Assistant Secretary Shantha Bandara said that Sri Lanka is above the poverty line compared to other SAARC countries. In Sri Lanka it is 6.9 percent while in Pakistan, Bangaladesh, India and Nepal the percentage of poverty is higher than Sri Lanka.

He was addressing a gathering at the Akkaraipattu Athaullah Auditorium recently while explaining the Divineguma livelihood national development program.
