People's Bank celebrates Thai Pongal

A ceremony was held on January 14 to commemorate Thai Pongal at the Kotahena branch of the People's Bank under the patronage of Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the bank, N. Vasantha Kumar.

A Hindu pooja was held to invoke blessings on the country, people and customers of People's Bank.

Banking transactions were carried out at this ceremony that witnessed a number of Hindu cultural events. The Corporate and Executive Management with the staff and a large gathering of customers of People's Bank were present.

Ceremonies were also held at People's Bank branches in areas largely populated by Hindus.
