NWSDB bonus issue to be solved soon

The bonus issue between the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) employees and the management will be settled today, Chairman Engineering Diploma (EDHA) Holders Association of NWSDB Subadhra Hettiarachchi told the Sunday Observer yesterday.

This follows a discussion with Minister Dinesh Gunawardena. A number of Trade Unions of NWSDB with the EDHA launched a work-to -rule campaign yesterday demanding to increase their bonus equal to the amount paid to executive rank officers.

Meanwhile NWSDB Chairman Karunasena Hettiarachchi said that Water Supply and Drainage Ministry has recommended him to increase the bonus of low rank employees from Rs. 500 to Rs. 2,300 while reducing the bonus of executive rank officers from Rs. 28,000 to Rs. 16,700.
