Generous gesture by Holcim

At the request of the Medical Superintendent of Puttalam Base Hospital Dr. A. Ashoka Perera the leading cement producers of Sri Lanka, Holcim Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, is constructing a platform adjacent to the Outpatient Department of the Puttalam Base hospital at a cost of Rs. 3.5 million.

This platform is meant to facilitate patients to embark and disembark from vehicles at the OPD of the hospital which is a few feet high from the ground, causing difficulties to patients, especially the elderly.

Wayamba Chief Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera, together with Provincial Councillors of NWP and K.A. Baiz, Chairman of Puttalam Urban Council and the Chief SLFP Organiser for Puttalam Electorate laid the foundation recently.
