Maldives President here on Tuesday
President of the Republic of Maldives Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom
will undertake a state visit to Sri Lanka from January 21 to 23 in
response to an official invitation extended by President Mahinda
Rajapaksa.
Extensive coconut cultivation under Kapruka Purawara

Coconut seedlings will be planted on eighty acres in Kotapola
Divisional Secretariat area under the Kapruka Purawara coconut
cultivation program launched by the Coconut Cultivation Board. Over 37
Kapruka societies were set up to ensure the success of their project.
Initially sixteen acres will be under cultivation.
Musical evening to mark India Republic Day
The Indian Cultural Centre has organised a musical evening 'One
World-One Voice - Spiritual Symphony' by renowned Indian singer Sonam
Kalra, on January 25, at Bishop's College auditorium Colombo, to mark
the 65th Republic Day of India.
The show will be presided over by High Commissioner of India, Y.K.
Sinha. Justice Minister Rauff Hakeem will be the chief guest.
The program is being organised in Sri Lanka with the support of
India-Sri Lanka Foundation, Ministry of Culture and Art, Government of
Sri Lanka and Hotel Taj Samudra, Colombo.

'Asirisara', a cultural fiesta presented by the Panadura Helakala
Sansadaya will be held at the Somathilake Vitharana Hall, Sri Sumangala
Vidyalaya, Panadura on January 25 at 6.30 p.m.
