The All-Island Draughts Championship conducted by the Colombo YMCA
was successfully concluded. The preliminary stages of the championship
were conducted on a knock-out basis. Ramya Gunasekara of the Colombo
YMCA who started winning at Draught’s in 1991 was undefeated throughout
the championship and emerged a clear winner.
Krishantha Kumarage was the 1st Runner-up and A. Nelson was the 2nd
Runner-up.
