Orville heads Rugby Referees Society

Orville Fernando was re-elected as the President of the Sri Lanka Rugby Referees Society, at its annual general meeting held last morning at the Havelocks Sports Club pavilion.

Orville had to go for a contest with veteran Dilroy Fernando, a man who has done a lot for the whistle, at the end of the voting it was close battle 32 votes to 29.

So, Orville comes in again as President, and he who from the chair proposed the name of Dilroy Fernando for the vice president's post.

The new committee Orville Fernando (President), Dilroy Fernando and Mahinda Jayawardena are the two vice presidents with Mahes Senanayake as the secretary and Wimal Perera (Treasurer).

The committee comprises of Tony Amith, a veteran of the whistle, Nizam Jamaldeen too is a senior hand, are the two senior committee members. Rest are Preethi Kumar, Charith Kodagoda, K. S. B. Karunaratne and Anura Rankothge.
