Technology stream for another 250 schools

The Education Ministry hopes to introduce a technology stream for another 250 schools this year by setting up 250 laboratories for students who follow the technological stream for their practicals and workshop experience, Deputy Education Minister Mohan Lal Grero said.

“Laboratories will be set up in another 250 schools in addition to the 1,000 Mahindodaya technical laboratories”, the Deputy Minister said.

The Deputy Minister said that 13,000 students are following the technology stream in the Advanced Level introduced into the syllabus last year enabling students to follow engineering technology and bio system technology.

By introducing technical subjects into the general education sector the Government has taken the initiative to include vocational education also in the general education system, to enable students to qualify for professional jobs for a better future.
