'Grade 5 Schol exam format won't change'

Commissioner General of Examinations of the Department of Examinations Sri Lanka, W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara told the Sunday Observer that the Department has decided to hold the Grade Five Scholarship Examination-2014 island-wide on August 17 and there would be no changes with regard to the format of the question papers.

"The question papers for this examination would be prepared as it was done during the previous years. However, there are discussions going on with regard to the mitigation of the pressure on primary students who sit for this examination. "Top officials of the Ministry of Education are now looking for ways and means of simplifying the evaluation procedures of this public examination that will be effected in future," he said. Pushpakumara also said that all school heads would be informed of these measures shortly.

"The syllabi that are prescribed for this public examination in 2014 too will not change under any circumstances," he further told the Sunday Observer.
