Cash awards of Rs. 5 ½ lakhs each were presented to the highest scorers at the GCE (A/L) examination 2013. In the Commerce stream Erandi Kanchana of Ratnavali Balika Vidyalaya, Gampaha and Chathurika Harshani of Mariarawa Kolladeniya Maha Vidyalaya scored the highest marks in Art stream in the Uva province. Here the students receive the awards from Housing, Construction and Engineering Services Minister Wimal Weerawansa. Minister of Wildlife Conservation Vijith Vijithamuni Soyza was also present.

The Country Vice President of the Federation International for Women Lawyers (FIDA) Sri Lanka and immediate past president of the Sri Lanka Women Lawyers’ Association, Ms Ridmika Dep participated at the FIDA Convention held in London, recently.Ms Ridmika  Dep and Ms Pramuditha Senaratne were appointed to the panel discussion and they spoke on Sri Lankan laws relating to 'Domestic Violence' and 'Child Protection'.
