Shashikala pilots SL Women to an exciting win
Sri Lanka Women's skipper Shashikala Siriwardene made a run-a-ball 52
runs as Sri Lanka chased down the India Women's 148-run target with one
ball to spare in first Twenty20 match played at Vizianagaram, India
yesterday.
Siriwardene smashed five fours and a six while Oshadhi Ranasinghe,
who excelled with the ball taking two wickets, hammered 19 off 19
deliveries hitting three fours to give Sri Lanka Women a thrilling win
in the series opening encounter.
Sent into bat, India Women scored 147-3 in 20 overs. Mithali Raj top
scored with 67 from 66 balls with nine fours and two sixes while
Harmanpreet contributed with a run-a-ball 40 including two fours and two
six.
