Kandy Sports Club have the edge over Up Country Lions

The second round, inter club league rugby match between Kandy Sports Club and Up-Country 'Lions' SC will take place this evening at Nittawela grounds, kick off is set for 4 pm with New Zealander from Singapore, Aaron Little Wood in charge of the whistle.

Kandy Sports Club, the club who have won the League on highest number of occasions, will play their best to pull this game in their favour.

Kandy's forwards who are famous for the power should play a vital role as to determine which way the game will go. If the White shirts are to go on a scoring spree should use the good ball won by the forwards and with there new coach Adrian Ferris should improve the quality of their ball handling.

Kandy Sports Club, which has an average all round side with all the players in peak form, could easily upset the best of fancied sides.

With new coach coming in most of the players are happy and also are in peak form and should have no difficulty in winning the game. In today's game Kandy SC led by Roshan Weerarathne will be expecting a lot from his forwards, the richness is their third row, who has given their best in the games played.

Skipper Roshan Weerathne has been outstanding and much is expected from him, Fazil Marija the play maker of the side should do well in ball handling and send the ball down the line, a fit Marija can do wonders.

Kandy Spots Club with plenty of talent and replacement are hoping to play a different type of game today and they will be out for 'lions' blood today.

Up-Country 'Lions' today will be hoping to give a good display of rugby, will rely more on their speedy outsides, to make good moves.

To win, the Nawalapitiya boys will have to play flawless rugby, mindful of the White Shirts ability to play the high ball to maximum benefit.

The Kandy ruggerites cover defence has been the best seen this season. A marked characteristic is that there is a back up bridge of at least three forwards when their outsides are going up to tackle. 'Lions' who are under the watchful eyes of Imthi Marikar will try their best to halt, the Nittawela side, but it will be difficult task.
