Mobitel introduces 'Roam without a Deposit'
Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel has introduced a new service designed for
post-paid customers travelling abroad.
This service, which doesn't require overseas travellers to make a
cash deposit to use the roaming facility, enables them to stay in touch
with their home and office with absolute ease.
Senior General Manager - Marketing, Mobitel, Nalin Perera said,
"'Roam without a deposit' offers customers a host of benefits.
Most importantly it eases the burden of a customer having to make a
cash deposit to use this facility.
RAM upgrades BRAC Lanka rating to BB+
RAM Ratings Lanka has upgraded BRAC Lanka Finance PLC's (previously
known as Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (Nanda) long-term financial
institution ratings to BB+ from BB-. At the same time, the short-term
rating has been reaffirmed at NP.
The Positive Rating Watch on the Company has been lifted and the
stable outlook on the long-term rating has been reinstated.
Toyota recalls 1.9m cars
Toyota is recalling 1.9 million of its top-selling Prius hybrid cars
because of a software fault that may cause the vehicle to slow down
suddenly.
The world's biggest carmaker said it had identified more than 400
reports of the problem, with the bulk of them occurring in Japan and
North America.
No accidents or injuries have been reported over the defect, a
spokesman for Toyota said.The recall comes weeks after Toyota halted the
sale of some car models in the US over problematic seat heaters .

TFC launches Ithurum Surakum
The Finance Company PLC (TFC) marked 2014 by launching, an innovative
product, Ithurum Surakum for adult savings accounts.
This product offers a free life insurance cover, with hospital cash
benefits that will be granted daily.
Customers who deposit a minimum of Rs. 50,000 in an Ithurum Surakum
account will be entitled to a life insurance cover worth Rs. 100,000
along with hospital cash benefits which will be paid to in-patients upon
hospitalisation in a non paying ward in a government hospital. |
