Over 4,000 Grama Niladharis get letters of appointment

The Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs will appoint 4045 Grama Niladharis to fill vacancies. The open competitive examination to recruit Grama Niladharis was held in 2013 by the Department of Examinations.

Marks of both written examination and interviews have already been handed over to the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs by the Examinations Department on February 5, 2014.

The Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs P.B. Abeykoon has already obtained the approval of the Commissioner of Elections to award appointment letters to the applicants.

Abeykoon held discussions with the Public service Commission to receive more instructions on their appointments, said A.M. Jayaweera, President of Kurunegala District Grama Niladharis' Association at a meeting of Grama Niladharis held in Bingiriya, Kurunegala recently.
