CASL demystifies ERP implementation

Enterprise Resource Planning was given renewed focus recently at a seminar series titled 'Demystifying Enterprise Resource Planning Implementation' organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CASL) recently.

The seminars conducted over seven sessions, featured subject specialists who educated the audience on a range of areas related to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) functions, implementation and benefits.

Session one on Exploring ERP focused on fundamentals and empowering business was presented by Chief Executive Officer of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), Yudy Kanagasabai, which was followed by a lecture on 'Pain free ERP implementation' by Executive Vice President and Group CIO, John Keells Holdings, Ramesh Shanmuganathan.

The third session on implementing the best suit ERP for your business was presented by Director of Calamander Capital, Singapore, Mafaz Ishaq, followed by Deputy General Manager, Alumex Ltd, Dr. Chandika Wickramathilaka who spoke on Post Implementation Review of ERP.

The seminar series also featured General Manager of Aitken Spence Technologies, Dr. Vickum Senanayake who spoke on Oracle E-Business Suite - Let's Get to Know the Best (Tier I ERP), followed by the sixth session on SAP - Beyond ERP - Making your business run better, which was presented by Head of SAP, MAS Holdings, Ransith Fernando.

This session was followed by a panel discussion featuring, CIO, Hemas Holdings, Chandima Cooray, Executive Vice President and Group CIO, John Keells, Ramesh Shanmuganathan and Regional Lead, SAP Cloud at SAP, Vaibhav Jain.

This session was moderated by Business Head - Sri Lanka of SAP, Michael Sathasivam.

The seventh and final session was on unleashing business potential which covered local and global studies presented by General Manager and Director Consulting Services South Asia of IFS, Poorna Bandara.

His presentation was followed by a panel discussion featuring Manohara Athukorala, Huzefa Akbarally and Thanuja Seneviratne.

The session was moderated by Managing Director, Flinth ndustrial Park, Joachim Johansson.
