Munchee wins dual honours


A Munchee official receives one of the awards.

Munchee secured the Student Brand of the Year at the DS Students Brand Award Ceremony 2013 organised by D.S. Senanayake College Commerce Societyto mark the College's Commerce Day.

Twenty-four reputed Sri Lankan brands from multiple categories were chosen by the students. Munchee received the highest recognition among the student community being selected the Brand of the Year. Munchee also secured the Student Food Brand of the Year award.

The Brand Ceremony 2013 was held at the BMICH recently. The chief guest was Education Minister Bandula Gunewardene.

Unlike previous traditional celebrations of school commerce day, the event was organised in a creative manner. This was as the first time a business award presentation ceremony was held with the participation of the student community.

According to a D.S. Senanayake Commerce Society official, the results were from a survey they conducted targeting GCE Advanced Level students of the Western Province.

Twenty-four brands under multiple categories were subjected to evaluation and nearly 10,000 students of the Western Province participated in this survey.
