CCC issues commemorative stamp

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) which marked 175 years of service to the nation and business issued a commemorative stamp and a first day cover to mark the occasion at the Chamber premises at Navam Mawatha recently. Deputy Postmaster General (Western Province) Mrs. Chitra Gunasekera, CCC Chairman Suresh Shah including the Past Chairmen of the institution participated.

The first stamp and the cover were presented to former CCC Chairman C. P. de Silva by Deputy Post Master General, Mrs. Chitra Gunasekera.

de Silva was the Chairman of the Chamber from 1977 to 1979. The commemorative stamp is a 'personalised stamp' and the third such stamp to be issued during the year by the Department of Posts.
