Foreign tours suspended

All chief Secretaries of Provincial Councils have been instructed to suspend temporarily all foreign tours of provincial ministers and councillors on a directive by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

In the letter to chief secretaries, Presidential Secretary Lalith Weeratunge is reported to have said the aim of the decision was to ensure the prudent management of voted funds.
