State Vesak festival in Polonnaruwa

The Annual State Vesak festival-2014 will be held in Polonnaruwa under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa in May. Ministry of Buddhasasana and Religious Affairs is making arrangements to hold the festival in a grand scale.

To mark this noble occasion, 8 low-income families have offered their sons to be ordained at Buddhist temples in Polonnaruwa. Their parents are provided with 8 decent dwelling places at a cost of 1.6 million rupees.
