Seventeen injured in Bulathsinhala bus mishap

Seventeen passengers including the driver sustained serious injuries when a bus skidded off the road and toppled near the Babarakulama Bridge on the Horana - Matugama main road yesterday early morning, the police said. The injured passengers were rushed to the Bulathsinhala Hospital and some of them were later transferred to the Nagoda Hospital in a critical condition. According to the police the incident had occurred when a group of passengers was returning after attending a funeral in Alawathugoda the previous night.

There were 28 passengers in the bus at the time of the accident, the police said.
