The 51th Big Match between Thurstan College and Isipathana College
ended in a draw at SSC grounds, Colombo yesterday.
Thurstan College, who were put into bat first on day one, declared
their first innings at 240-8 after batting for another 10 overs
yesterday morning.
Three Thurstanites made half centuries. Opener Minhaj Jaleel scored
61 and middle order batsmen Thimira Jayasinghe (56) and skipper Kavindu
Kulasekara (57) made half tons.
Kelum Bastianz, Avindu Zoysa and Chameera Dissanayake picked up two
wickets each for Isipathana College. Isipathana were at 136 for 6
wickets when bad weather curtailed the match. Shenal Wijesinghe (2 for
35) and Kavindu Kulasekara (2 for 7) excelled with the ball for Thurstan
College.
Kelum Bastianz (44) top scored for Isipathana while opener Sachin
Jayasuriya also contributed 34 runs.
