BoC launches Ran Kekulu gift vouchers

The Bank of Ceylon's (BoC) Ran Kekulu gift vouchers is one of the best modes of giving a gift to a child because it also helps to inculcate the savings habit at a young age. BoC Ran Kekulu gift vouchers could be purchased from any Bank of Ceylon branch.

The vouchers can be deposited in any BoC Ran Kekulu children's savings account or the voucher could be used to open a new account at any branch. The Ran Kekulu savings account pays an additional 1% interest compared to a normal savings account.

This account is also linked with free life insurance cover for the parent or guardian up to maximum of Rs. 500,000. Any parent or guardian who opens Ran Kekulu accounts for more than one child will be insured up to a maximum of Rs. 1 million (age of the parent or guardian not exceeding 70).

The child will also get a free medical insurance cover up to Rs.100,000 per annum in case of accident or 10 specified critical illnesses needing hospitalisation for more than three nights. Account holders are also entitled for slab-based gifts for special birthdays as per the balance in the account.

Account holders who show exceptional performance at the Year Five scholarship examination are also entitled to apply for a scholarship. Account holders will also enjoy seasonal benefits the bank provides. The Bank of Ceylon earned global recognition as one of the top 1,000 banks in the world, as listed by The Banker Magazine (UK) in 2012 and 2013.

The Bank was recognised as one of Asia's Best Brands in 2013 by the Chief Marketing Officer's Council (CMO Council) in Mumbai, India and Brand Finance Lanka ranked Bank of Ceylon as the number one brand in Sri Lanka for the past six consecutive years.

The Bank of Ceylon recorded yet another hat-trick in 2013 at the National Business Excellence awards ceremony organised by the National Chamber of Commerce. The Bank has achieved exceptional milestones in recent years by achieving rapid growth and holds over Rs. 1 trillion in assets.

Focusing on the bank's achievement, Fitch Rating Lanka ranked the Bank of Ceylon at AA+(lka) which is the highest rating awarded to a local commercial bank. The Bank of Ceylon is the only Sri Lankan bank with an international presence, with branches in Chennai, Male, Seychelles and a subsidiary in London.
