President at Ganu-Denu at BoC



BoC officials greet President Rajapaksa on his arrival at the BoC Tangalle branch.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa engaged in Ganu-Denu at the Tangalle branch of the Bank of Ceylon (BoC) on Tuesday.

BoC Directors Chandrasiri de Silva and Ms. Nalini Abeywardene, BoC General Manager D. M. Gunasekara, BoC AGM, Southern Province, D.K.N. Piyasoma, BoC Tangalle Branch Manager G.A. Gnanawickrama, BoC Tangalle branch employees and customers were present.

"For 74 years, the Bank of Ceylon has been in the forefront in preserving heritage and upholding traditions and cultural values in the country.

"In this spirit, Bank of Ceylon called upon customers to celebrate this Avurudu with their families and engage in Avurudu customs and rituals and thereby pass on to future generations the values, principals and traditions of our country.

"We thank the clergy and academics whose words of wisdom helped in our endeavour to remind society of the traditions and cultural values of Avurudu," a bank spokesman said.
