The Abhimansala - 3 in Pangolla

The newest wellness resort of the Abhimansala welfare resort project for War Heroes of the Sri Lanka Army will be opened on April 25 by President Mahinda Rajapaksa. This is the third of the Abhimansala wellness resorts and is located in Pangolla, Kurunegala. "The Abhimansala - 3 will be able to provide lifelong treatment for 52 War Heroes with permanent disabilities," said Major General Mano Perera , Director General of Rehabilitation of the Sri Lanka Army.

'Abimansala' is a separate protective home for all differently able War Heroes which promotes their well-being throughout their life span. Wellness resort also provides round the clock care to the inmates. A special feature of this resort will be that the family members of dependant war heroes will also be able to stay with them.

Two Abimansala resorts have already been constructed at Anuradhapura and Kamburupitiya. The first one built in Anuradhapura can accommodate 52 inmates and the second Kamburupitiya can accommodate 48 inmates.

The project is being carried out from the donations made to brave heart fund of army Seva Vanitha Unit. The government has declared brave heart fund as a charity fund by a special gazette.
