Police officer assaulted on Southern Expressway

A Police officer who was on his way for duty on the Souther Expressway had been severely assaulted by an armed gang that had subsequently torched his car on Friday night, the police said.

An undergrad's untimely fate

Dimasha was the village beauty. Her waist-length tresses gave her a lot of character. She had an olive tan complexion and this showed off her sharp features. In addition she had brains as well. She did her Advanced Level examination and had done well. She was later selected to enter the Arts Faculty in Colombo.
