Prime Minister not racist, Faizer Mustapha

Deputy Investment Promotion Minister Faizer Mustapha addressing the event organised at the Prime Minister's office to present appointment letters to Chairman and other six members of WAKUF Board, said that Prime Minister has proved that he is not a racist by his deeds. Some people are spreading rumors with the intention of sending people astray. No room should be left to such people.

He said that it should be appreciated that to avoid this kind of situation, the Ministry of Buddha Sasana has taken steps to implement some programs jointly with the Muslim Affairs Department. The Deputy Minister said that the official ceremony was a best example to prove Prime Minister's concern about peace and harmony among the people in the country and as well as who rise against Sri Lanka internationally with unhealthy plans. The prime responsibilities of newly appointed members are to take the leadership in Muslim Religious Affairs, Investigate the short comings of the Mosques, Registration of Mosques, Appointing Trustees, Solving problems which arise within Mosques.

WAKUF Board members were appointed under the guidance of Muslim Affairs Department and the appointments are valid for another 3 years.
